Fatmawati yang bernama asli Fatimah lahir di bengkulu pada tahun 1923 dan meninggal dunia di kuala lumpur, malaysia pada tahun 1980 serta dimakamkan di TMP Kalibata, jakarta. Ia adalah isti ke tiga Soekarno. Ia juga dikenal berjasa dalam menjahit bendera merah putih yang turut dikibarkan pada upacara proklamasi kemerdekaan indonesia di jakarta pada 17 Agustus 1945. Pernikahaan soekarno dan fatmawati dikaruniai lima orang anak, yaitu guntur soekarnoputra, Megawati soekarnoputri, sukmawati soekarnoputri, rachmawati soekarnoputri, dan guruh soekarnoputra.
